How to do an ADHD brain dump

  1. Capture without sorting

Write a task, reminder, idea or worry in Quick Capture. Words and fragments are enough; you do not need to make a complete list.

  2. Save what you want to revisit

Select “Add to list” or press Enter to save an item. Use Shift + Enter for a new line. “Copy all” copies your saved list so you can keep it elsewhere.

  3. Choose one next step, if you want

You can leave the list for later. If you are ready, choose one small action and try the free ADHD focus timer for a duration that feels manageable. You can stop or take a break.

A brain dump example

A fictional list to show the process, not a list you need to finish:

  • Reply to Maya about Friday.
  • Find the electricity bill.
  • Idea: keep a spare charger in my bag.

One possible next step is “open Maya’s message,” rather than “catch up on everything.” The other items can wait.

Questions about this brain dump tool

Do I need an account or an ADHD diagnosis?

No. This is a free note-taking tool for anyone who wants to write things down. It is not an ADHD test or treatment, and using it does not establish whether you have ADHD.

Where are my thoughts saved?

Drafts and saved items stay in this browser profile. They are not uploaded or sent to analytics. Google Analytics measures page visits; see our privacy information for network-request details.

The app does not encrypt browser storage or sync notes across devices. Other people using the same browser profile may access them. Clearing browser data can remove your notes.

Can I keep or delete my list?

“Copy all” copies saved items, not the draft in Quick Capture. Keep important text in your own file or notes app. The tool keeps the newest 200 saved items. “Remove thought” deletes one saved item; “Clear all” deletes the saved list after confirmation. To remove a draft, clear the Quick Capture field too. Copies you keep elsewhere must be deleted separately.
